The Property
Our vacation home, a stilt house in the Floridan beach house design, combines modern American furnishings with rustic 'Old Florida style' on around 2000 sqft. Enjoy unique sunrises and sunsets from one of the terraces. The boat dock allows direct access to the sea. You can experience boat trips, kayaking, jet skiing, stand-up paddleboarding, fishing and much more directly from the house without having to spend a long time chugging through canals or 'no wake zones'. The equipment for all water activities can be rented on the island. Charlie, a curious dolphin, comes by sometimes and 'looks around' in front of the house. From the water terrace you can watch osprey dragging one fish after another into their nest after the breeding season. The modern SwimSpa with counter-current system and jacuzzi invites you to sport and wellness.

The Location
The Millcorner's (2579 Third Street Matlacha) is located on the idyllic "Old Florida" fishing island Matlacha in Southwest Florida close by Ft. Myers, Cape Coral & Naples.
The island, in the middle of the ,Matlacha Pass Aquatic Preserve', a special conservation area, is located in the Gulf of Mexico next to the famous former pirate islands Sanibel & Captiva and counts about 700 inhabitans (including artists, musicians & fisherman). It is often called ‘Little Key West’ and it is recommended away from the tourist bustle. 'A taste of paradise' as the Americans say.
Matlacha is connected to the mainland by a bridge. This ensures island feeling without being cut off from civilization. The island is home to a variety of native animal and plant species (ospreys, pelicans, dolphins, manatees, citrus fruits, mango, palm trees, mangroves, etc.).
The Southwest International Airport Ft. Myers can be reached in just 40 minutes. On Matlacha there are shops for daily needs, bars (with live music), (fish) restaurants, coffee shops and ateliers of local artists in walking distance from the house.
Free tennis courts and the outdoor pool can be reached in just 5 minutes by car. Numerous golf courses for your golf holiday with different levels of difficulty are just as close as the attractive waterpark ,Sun Splash'.
