Matlacha | Florida | USA

Every year millions of travelers from all over the world visit Florida for its tourist attractions, its beaches, its more than 300 sunshine days a year, its waterways, countless golf courses,  amazing  fishing  and its infrastructure.

However, Florida insiders, who know the country, come here to enjoy the Florida, off the beaten tourist tracks and away from the buzzing beach life on world-famous shorelines. Old rustic piles built on the waterfront, nature parks for hikers and bicycle enthusiasts, idyllic waterways around countless smaller uninhabited islands, all this is 'Old Florida'. The gentle breezes from the Gulf of Mexico, the turquoise waters and the tranquility give you a sense of timelessness and complete 'independence' from the iPhone, iPad or watch.

Only a few miles west of Fort Myers, about 15 minutes drive from Cape Coral, you will find such a 'Old Florida Paradise'. A sign with the inscription 'Island time begins here' conveys this flair of the 'Florida of the past' when driving over the small bridge on Matlacha (pronounced Mat-La-Shay).

Fascinated by this 'Old Florida Style', we have chosen the location for our vacation home right where Floridan fauna and flora and centuries-old Mediterranean lifestyle can be optimally paired with life in modern times. Enjoy this spot and let yourself be infected by the fascination 'Old Florida'.

'The world belongs to the one who can enjoy!'

Sincerely,
